‘The words from your tongue and in the expressions of your face reveal that which you conceal in your heart. Arrogance causes destruction of one’s religion; greed is the enemy of one’s soul, and envy is the guide to wickedness. The tongue will betray the heart of the foolish. You need to think and revitalise your heart in order to obtain the key to the gateways of wisdom. In the meantime, your clemency is suppression of anger and self-restraint. The doer of good is better than the good itself, and the doer of evil is worse than the evil itself. Whoever abstains from this world takes hardships lightly; and whoever anticipates death will hasten towards good deeds. Juma Mubarak’ Shaykh Tahir
